SB Components International announce expansion on Wisbech site

04 October 2016

Wisbech based market leaders SB Components announce multi million pound expansion of existing site to accommodate the growth of the Commercial Body Division.

Currently located within a mile of the main site the Commercial Body Division has seen steady growth since its opening in 2011 and with the introduction of several large fleet operators an increased production capacity has become a necessity.

Utilising a site expansion totalling two acres the new purpose built factory will accommodate vehicle numbers of between 20 -30 at any given time and with over 2600m2 of bodybuilding capacity including facilities for preparation, manufacturing and a dedicated stores area. Exterior works will include dedicated areas for crane testing, plant storage and a new BOC station to compliment the new site in addition to providing services for the existing main site.

James Warren, Operations Director explains "The expansion of the Commercial Body Division allows the business to continue its yearly growth and with the relocation to the main site this allows us to significantly improve our efficiency eliminating transportation of materials and improving vehicle logistics between sites. Increasing capacity also allows us to improve both internal practices and efficiency to continue to provide our customers with the same level of service and quality that they have come to expect. With our increased capacity we will provide new opportunities for local skilled workers and progression for current employees as we look to grow the Commercial Body Division over the coming years.

Currently offering Tippers, Curtainsiders, Box Vans, Beavertails, Dropsides and Crane Installations within the 3.5T - 26T markets the new facility will also offer new opportunities to expand SB Components existing product range into larger markets.

Due to be completed for the end of November 2016 and with further improvements being made within the main site including relocation of its staff to a new office complex exciting times lay ahead for SB Components.

James also commented on the professionalism and support from both James Burton of Swann Edwards who has project managed the build and NB Construction who have been contracted to complete the building works.
